Conducting

As a conductor and artistic director, Borges-Cunha has contributed to the renewal of orchestral repertoire. His programs integrate historical repertoire with diverse aesthetic trends of current music, including commissions and premieres of works, and production of operas and ballets. He was the artistic director and principal conductor of the São Pedro Theater Chamber Orchestra (Porto Alegre) from 2004 to 2017 and the Sesi/Fundarte Orchestra from 1996 to 2013. He was also the artistic director of ENCOMPOR Latin American Composers Meeting, Festival de Música Montenegro, and musical programming of the XIV Meeting of the National Association for Research and Postgraduate Programs in Music (ANPPOM). In addition, he acts as the conductor and Pedagogical Director of the Recanto Maestro Youth Orchestra and also as a guest conductor in several orchestras.
